ACADB Mission Statement
The new generation who lives in Balkan region seems to be deeply linked with what has happened in the past, but keeping the look on the past they think this is the time to emphasize the best side of the Balkans nation's history, on behalf for the better future, for human relations in this place. The ACADB is funded to contribute through culture and art to have permanent real peace that seems to be the main fundamental condition for development of Balkans. In order to realize its goal ACADB is using the variety of the cultures that the Balkans nations have and to have these cultures exchanged by the artists.
The mission of our organization, the only one of its kind in Kosova, is one of high-calling and noble stature. Its ultimate aim is to educate and explain democratic principles, the rule-of-law, and elements of civil society to Kosovars by means of innovative, artistic venues. Through hard work and commitment, this vision can and will make a lasting and significant impact on our society, and we will strive to attain our goals effectively and with purpose.
The Association of Culture and Art Development in Balkans - ACADB Because this film is educational in nature, it by no means indicates that our role in implementing these goals is not important or exciting. In fact, we take great pride being able to teach and inform the general population and others in the region about what civil society means through our talents and artistic abilities. This opportunity provides our organization with the unique and valuable distinction of being Kosovo's first 'edu-drama' production company.
Through the creative and imaginative ability of our gifted actors, technical staff and crew, we will continue to work toward the goal of conveying to Kosovars of all ethnic backgrounds what true democracy means: that everyone has been created in the same way, and is deserving of equal rights before the law. It is in this way that ACADB intends to help Kosovars think of themselves as modern Europeans, as we demonstrate how to create bright, promising futures for ourselves and for our children.
Ultimately, what our organization aims to accomplish is nothing short of a total reversal of trends established by the Milosevic regime. Where that government implemented apartheid and corruption, we will stress integration and integrity. When he called for oppression, we will teach reconciliation, impartial justice and the rule-of-law. In short, our aim is to act as the standard-bearer for transparency in leadership, and to explain the importance of implementing reforms at all levels of government. Furthermore, in our role as inspired artists and educators, we have the privilege of informing Kosovars of their rights and responsibilities toward their elected politicians as well as toward each other.
Finally, ACADB will act as a shining symbol in the Balkans, representing the way to right past wrongs, and leading by example. Through our programs we will demonstrate to the world that we are ready to become an equal partner in democratic European society. We think that an association like ACADB is not just desirable but indispensable for Balkans.
